Services

Support that happens where life happens.

Three ODP waiver services, each built around the goals in a person’s Individual Support Plan.

01 · CPS

Community Participation Support

Helping individuals build skills, confidence, and independence while participating in meaningful community activities.

  • Finding and joining activities that match the person’s own interests — clubs, classes, recreation, faith and cultural communities.
  • Volunteering at places like libraries, animal shelters, and food banks, building skills and confidence that lead toward competitive, integrated employment.
  • Making and keeping friendships and connections that last beyond paid support.
  • Practicing the skills that make community life easier: ordering, asking for help, getting around safely.

Our CPS is unlicensed and 100% community-based. There is no facility and no day program building — support happens out in Lancaster County, where everyone else lives their lives.

02 · IHCS

In-Home and Community Support

Personalized support designed to help individuals live safely and independently in their homes and communities.

  • Everyday living at home — meals, cleaning, laundry, routines, and home safety, including what to do in an emergency.
  • Activities of daily living — personal grooming and hygiene, dressing, and moving safely around the home, with as much or as little help as each person needs.
  • Getting around the community safely, using the transportation options that fit the person’s life.
  • Community life and relationships — outings and personal interests, staying connected to family and friends, and making everyday choices.

03

Companion Services

Compassionate, one-on-one support that promotes social connection, companionship, and daily living assistance.

  • Supervision and support that helps a person stay safe — at home, in the community, and at work.
  • Company and conversation, shared activities, and outings the person chooses.
  • Incidental help with everyday tasks like grooming, meals, and household care.
  • A steady presence for people who need someone there for safety rather than for skill-building.

Our approach

Guided by Everyday Lives.

ODP’s Everyday Lives: Values in Action is the standard we hold ourselves to — the same choices, relationships, and community life anyone expects for themselves.

“Salem Human Services, LLC is committed to supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live meaningful, self-directed lives as valued members of their communities. Guided by ODP’s Everyday Lives principles, services promote choice, independence, dignity, and inclusion while respecting each individual’s strengths, preferences, culture, and goals.”

Our mission
  1. Person-Centered Planning

Every visit is tied to an outcome in the person’s Individual Support Plan — their goals, in their words.

  2. Respect & Dignity

We honor each person’s choices, culture, and right to take reasonable risks in their own life.

  3. Skill-Building & Independence

We teach, then step back. Progress means someone needs a little less help than they did before.

  4. Community Inclusion

Support happens in ordinary community places, alongside neighbors — not in a separate setting.

Our vision:Our vision is a community where individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities have equal opportunities to build relationships, pursue interests, contribute to their communities, and live lives of their choosing.
